Psychiatry is a branch of medicine that diagnoses and treats mental and behavioral disorders. The mental illness is considered of the most important public health problems because of the frequency of the mental disorders.
Psychiatric disorders may affect most aspects of a person's life, such as physical activity, behavior, emotions, thoughts, perception, interpersonal relationships, sexuality, work, and leisure.
These disorders can originate from a combination of factors: biological, psychological, and social. People seek psychiatric help either because of acute symptoms such as panic attacks, hallucinations, suicidal thoughts, or because they are "hearing voices", or following problems that are lasting for a long time, such as feelings of sadness, despair, or anxiety. These conditions affect daily life, creating the feeling of lack of control over it. In such cases, the person who can support you in finding and following a treatment with favorable effects is the psychiatrist.
In our multidisciplinary clinic, we opted to create a relationship of connection between psychiatry and other medical disciplines, our team working together to provide our patients with complex services and solutions, appropriate for the faced problems.
